This study analyzes the direct and indirect effects of women's economic participation on fertility rates. To accomplish this, data from 227 municipalities (excluding Sejong Special Self-Governing City) in 2021 were utilized, with wages and marriage rates as mediators. Health Belief Model has been widely used to explain individuals’ health behaviors. This study examined the current status and trends of the research field, and the explanatory power of the theory itself by conducting a content analysis on Korean researches to which the health belief model was applied.
